What is InfoTXT?
InfoTXT Messaging Platform is the flagship software product of M2M Wireless Tech Corporation, which makes use of the M2M technology. Functionalities are purely SMS-based, but the interface is accessible via a browser (e.g. Internet Explorer).

Can InfoTXT be used as stand-alone software?
No. InfoTXT relies on an M2M device and a GSM modem to be able to function properly. Without these, the software can't work.

Is InfoTXT limited to sending and receiving text messages?
No. Sending and receiving messages is just a part of the functionalities of InfoTXT. InfoTXT can be tweaked and adjusted to perform many other functions such as electronic raffles, database updating, alarms, etc. However, all functions of InfoTXT rely on sending text messages to connected M2M devices to execute the commands.

Are text messages sent by InfoTXT free?
No. SMS sent by the InfoTXT server is charged to its SIM card like any other cellular number by the network service provider. For best results, it is recommended that the SIM card used by the GSM modem be enrolled as a POSTPAID service since the cost of SMS sent is 50% lower than a prepaid account.

What about monthly or annual fees? Are there installation charges as well?
There are no monthly or annual fees. When you purchase your InfoTXT package, it is a one-time payment only. Installation is also free.

Can InfoTXT be installed on multiple computers? What about licensing policies?
Theoretically, yes. But then, InfoTXT is practically useless without its own GSM modem. Consequently, InfoTXT is licensed to only one computer unit per package. Furthermore, if you happen to have a GSM modem of your own and attempt to activate InfoTXT using the same Activation Key used in the original installation, it will not work. The Activation Key can only be used once, and it is tied to the original GSM modem provided by M2M Wireless.

There is a small free software in the Internet where I can send free text messages from my PC to several network subscribers, so why will I need InfoTXT?
If you plan to use this software for personal reasons, it is the obvious choice. For corporate or business use, however, it is also obvious that you avoid it for the following reasons:

  • You do not have ownership of the product. This means you can't do any configuration with it to suit your needs, and you don't have control of how the software will be developed (or dropped)
  • It is unprofessional. Imagine promoting your company with SMS but showing the logo of another. Besides, your corporate image suffers when people realize you are using these freebies for your information dissemination needs.
  • No technical support
  • Extra text messages sent are simply annoying.

Our servers run on Linux. Can InfoTXT be installed here?
No. InfoTXT Messaging Platform runs on Microsoft Windows 2000 or XP. IIS must also be activated prior to installation.
